UPDATE:

Just spoke to another good friend near GAZA CITY. Here is what he wants the world to know:

“Families are fleeing to live with other relatives in different parts of Gaza. Schools are FULL or unreachable because everyone is a soft target, I hate to use the comparison, but like rabbits and animals we are being killed.”

[Sounds of bombs and artillery in the background, CONSTANT]

“I expect more ESCALATION because ISRAEL doesn’t care about CIVILIANS, their main priority according to international law is to protect civilians, they have NO respect for international law.”

[He points his camera toward the window and shows me HUGE PLUMES OF SMOKE and the sounds of terrible bombing.]

He says:

“Can you hear it and see it? And this is not that close. It is in the Shujaiya.”

Good God, how close is CLOSE! I think to myself. I feel as though I can reach out and touch it and the sound is unreal.

He continues, “Civilians are everywhere, Israelis want to feel “safe?” they bring them on tv talking about being “safe.” I want to go on worldwide tv and debate one about being “safe” WE are civilians here.”

The connection slows as yet ANOTHER BOMB is dropped.

“The Israel Occupation Forces are deliberately KILLING CIVILIANS. They continue to drop leaflets to LEAVE OUR HOMES. There are no resistance fighters here. WE are civilians, I am a civilian. WHERE DO WE GO?”

“NO WHERE IN GAZA IS SAFE.”

With all the testimony and reports we’ve heard, is it difficult to conclude that ISRAEL IS TARGETING ALL OF GAZA WITHOUT ANY REGARD TO HUMAN LIFE? Are all these human beings, families, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, uncles, aunts, grandparents, homes, businesses, schools, hospitals and streets not part of humanity and the landscape of what people call HOME?

It is a CALCULATED and intentional PLAN to kill as many PALESTINIANS IN GAZA and to destroy the infrastructure to FURTHER cripple them and their ability to attain basic needs. This has been on going for years now.

Send me a video from your window, please, I ask him. “Ok, he replies. I will send now.” I disconnect our call, the video is still loading, don’t know if it will reach us. Still waiting.

But as you look out of your window today, the image of SAFETY and NEIGHBORS and LIFE will surely be shattered.
