UPDATE: I call Souad to dispel this MYTH that there is a message from GAZA asking everyone around the world to celebrate as the WHOLE of GAZA will be “CELEBRATING.”

After mentioning what or if there are plans for EID, Souad breaks down and cries. “WHAT EID? How do all these refugees, who have been made refugees celebrate EID? We are locked up in these homes/shelters with no way to cook for ourselves. The streets are empty, there is NO where to BUY anything. WE miss our HOME. THERE is NO EID here. AND we consider ourselves lucky, what of those who sought shelter in the schools they are WORSE off. HOW can we venture out WHILE BOMBS, ARTILLERY AND SHELLS threaten us? THERE IS NO EID, ONLY PRAYER.”

I am ANGRY. ANGRY that her EID is non existent, but MORE ANGRY that people in positions of privilege are exploiting some message of “happiness” in order to fulfill some AGENDA.

I’VE HAD IT. IF YOU WANT TO CELEBRATE EID, I RESPECT THAT and I’m not asking everyone NOT to. MY anger stems from this exploitation of Palestinian suffering AND IMAGE OF THEM AS SOME SUPER HUMAN being that will be happy and want the world to be happy while their dead still lay in the streets, while bombs rain down on them all the WHILE some Eid fairy come visit them with presents, MAYBE SHE WILL ARRIVE ON A DRONE.
